The answers to the vagaries of the Jazzateers line ups confusion should be a wee bit clearer if you click this link below. Approximately - Jazzateers V1 (Alison Gourlay- vocals), Jazzateers V2 (Paul Quinn / Rutkowski Sisters - vocals), Bourgie Bourgie (Quinn / Burgoyne / Band / Auld), then Paul and Alan Horne move to London to launch Pauls solo career, Burgoyne / Band / Auld reconfigurate as Jazzateers follow Aztec Camera and leave Postcard for Rough Trade,. V3 (Grahame Skinner - vocals /),..release ROUGH 46 (gun LP) in 1983. Paul Quinn doesnt sign a solo deal so leaves Alan Horne and moves back to Glasgow,.. rejoins Jazzateers (signing backing vocals on ROUGH 46),.. Jazzateers become Bourgie Bourgie again with Paul on vocals,..sign to MCA release 2 singles and record an album in Bavaria (unreleased)... Paul leaves Bourgie Bourgie and rejoins Alan Horne at Swamplands Records and releases a couple of singles with Edwyn Collins in tow. Burgoyne & Band find as new singer (Matthew Wilcox) and morph back into Jazzateers V4,..release a single - Pressing On,...a few line up changes along the way before finally imploding. Hamburgs mighty Marina Records release the gun album on CD (along with an unreleased album by Jazzateers V4 - Blood Is Sweeter Than Honey),... in the past couple of years ROUGH 46 was released on redux vinyl by Creeping Bent, and most recently Cherry Red released the early Postcard recordings by V1 with Alison as Dont Let Your Son Grow Up To Be A Cowboy.
