The apartments across the street from me seem to be very used to their fire alarms. Too much so, in fact. There are a number of elderly who forget to turn off toaster ovens, or put things in the microwave too long. All small things that just produce a little smoke. The fire department almost always shows up right away. Trouble is, these folks have stopped even leaving during an alarm. I certainly hope the day never comes for real, and they just ignore it until it is too late. How to fix the problem?... I just happened to be outside when it started tonight. This recording was started about two minutes after the alarm first went off. Youll see maybe two people looking out on the middle floor, and nothing else. The fire department comes in record time too.
