The arctic air has arrived as advertised. And todays high temp at OHare was a perfectly chilling 31 degrees. But as cold as this is, its not as cold as the expectations for Monday and Tuesday when highs will reach the low to mid 20s and overnight lows tumble to the low teens (if not single digits). These temps may be only part of the problem next week when strong winds may produce below zero wind chills. And it is now snowing in parts of the area. While not a big storm, it may cover the ground in many areas. One piece of warmer news involves next weekend, when a nice push of milder air brings a little rain to the area. At least thats what the GFS model is claiming...stayed tuned for any changes next week. And have a warm and happy weekend.
