Mittry Lake and Imperial Dam Roads will remain open. The closure starts at Imperial Dam Road and continues south on Mittry Lake Road to the dredge boat ramp and includes all land and water access. Please be cautious when you are traveling on Mittry Lake Road because firefighters will continue to be in the fire area for the next week to reduce safety hazards. The Walker Fire started on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at 4 p.m., and was 100% contained on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at 6 p.m. The fire consumed 1,110 acres of native riparian habitat which includes cattail and bulrush marsh, cottonwood, willow, and mesquite trees. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Anyone with information related to the fire is encouraged to call the Bureau of Land Management at 928-317-3260.
