The arid and semi arid northern kenya has many problems, unfavourable weather, hunger and drought, extreme poverty, endemic conflicts and poor infrastructure. The region has vast lands which can be used for irrigation, plenty of potential winds and sun which can be harnessed to produce clean energy. The construction of lamu port and the transport corridor through Isiolo and moyale will open up northern kenya, linking it to southern sudan and ethiopia. With proper investment in climate resilient physical infrastructure especially the road and telecommunication network, the establishment of milk processing plants and kenya meat commission depots can change northern kenya forever
