The art of giving freedom Have you ever wondered why it is so - TopicsExpress

The art of giving freedom Have you ever wondered why it is so tough to live together? It involves adjusting and giving up, that’s why. And giving up is like hitting your own ego with huge hammers. Well that hurts quite a lot. But there is something else that makes living together impossible. You know you are perfect and you want to impose that perfection on others…uh, to make them perfect just like you! You want everything to be in what you call ‘perfect’. Your definition of perfect is final! You poke your nose in everything your spouse does. You want to decide what your kid wears to the party. You cannot even tolerate minimum changes when someone else operates the computer in a different series of commands. You argue, you want to make others believe your ideas and appreciate them. You too believe in freedom, you want it. If you are not given the freedom to do something, you protest. You will not allow anyone else to decide what you do. But why not give back the freedom that you have received? Why can’t you have the slightest sensibleness of putting yourself in their places and see how it feels like to be poked in for every situation? Stop it! Stop it now! Give others some space. Your son doesn’t hate you if he does not accept your friend request on facebook. It is his space…let him be. Don’t sit beside your spouse when he/she is deciding the new password. Give them space, do not suffocate them. They have a life and they shall live it as they like. Only suggest…never insist. Everybody is an individual right? Let them decide, allow them to experiment. Of course you all make a family but don’t forget that they are the ‘members’ of the family as well. You will help them and be there for support all the time…even they know that. Know that by ‘giving freedom’ you won’t lose yours. Stop imposing, stop deciding for others. Nobody is deciding for you…you have enough work to involve in at every sunrise. In short, this whole article is... I believe in what I believe, You believe in what you believe, I also believe in not imposing my beliefs on your beliefs.
