The article from the NY Times at the link below tells a familiar story for those of us with a bipolar diagnosis. So often, before we know what has hit us, our lives are destroyed by the symptoms of the illness. The experience is so traumatic that some studies indicate that as many as 50% of bipolar sufferers attempt suicide in their lifetime. Between 15 and 20% die from suicide. We are committed to supporting our peers who are often suffering in silence from depression or mania. And we will be making announcements over the next few months as we work to strategically educate the Chattahoochee Valley region about Bipolar and depression.
