The article is useful for obtaining insight into Elitist thinking - TopicsExpress

The article is useful for obtaining insight into Elitist thinking on the foibles of even a partial gold standard, and is incorrect in many interesting respects. Ill skip the lions share of my hyperbole to say with what remains, that if any sovereign ever desperately needed deflating it is certainly Switzerland. But on the macro side the arguments in the article are flawed at best and dangerously wrong at worst. The bottom line is that Elites may fail. Really, they really might. They might pull off the Ponzi much longer ... yes, just a few years more perhaps?? No one knows. But if Elites do fail, it will be the ultimate irony with respect to the unwinding of the Central Banks via their gold gaming. Gold gaming which must lead to the colossal failure of by-decree fiat, which must be inevitable at some future point. Of course all that is left out of the article until the very last sentence. telegraph.co.uk/finance/comment/ambroseevans_pritchard/11258240/Swiss-vote-provokes-6000-year-gold-bubble-attack.html
