The attack on Charlie Hebdo, a French satirical magazine based in Paris and killing of its staff members by a group of people in the name of Islam is nothing but a criminal act meant to insult Islam. Its reported that the criminals responsible for this deadly attack claimed their act is a revenge against the magazine which published controversial cartoons depicting Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Contrary to their claims this act is not only going to damage and harm Muslims but the adversaries of Islam is going to benefit from it the most. All India Sunni Jam-e-Yyathul Ulema condemns this attack and express our sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims. Do not forget that Islam has been presented by God for the peace, happiness and security of the entire humanity. No Muslim by any means are entitled to declare unjust war on humanity. Do not forget that ours is a Prophet who would always forgive and pardon even to his deadliest enemy. They rebuked Him, taunted and mocked at Him, beat Him and abused Him. They tried to kill Him and waged many wars against Him. But he did not take revenge on anyone, but forgave all. Its also so sad that this deadly act happened at a time when millions of Muslims across the globe celebrate Melladunnabi, the birthday celebration of their beloved Prophet ﷺ. who taught them to keep forgiveness, enjoin kindness and turn away from the ignorant. Let me state firmly and clearly that these self proclaimed protectors of Islam do not represent any of Islamic values and principles. Our religion does not require their protection. So is our beloved Prophet ﷺ. . At the same time, given the extreme difficult situationthat the French Muslims face in their everyday life out of the senseless Isalamophobic mindset which represnts the current norm in France, I hope that this reckless act of terrorism would not lead to another Isalmophic backlash. Europe should also learn to live with diffrence that the peaceful Isalm of the majority of European muslims teaches to the world.
