The attorney general of the United States, Eric Holder, said he would issue a set of guidelines to end racial discrimination among federal police agents, a longstanding demand of movements against racism. Holder made the announcement after meeting with police and community leaders in Atlanta. The meeting this Monday was the first in a series of meetings that President Obama asked him to hold after the death of the African American teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. Earlier, Obama said he wanted to spend $75 million to equip 50,000 agents with small lapel cameras to record their exchanges with citizens. In the next three years, the president wants $263 million invested in a package of measures to restore public confidence in the Ferguson police.
