The basic difference between the liberal social gospel and the the true gospel of Christ is the biblical way of redeeming man. The social gospel contends that men can be changed if their environments can be changed or redeemed. But the Bible very clearly teaches that the only way to redeem and change society is through the lives of individuals who have been saved by the grace of God. This is why I believe Americas only hope is a spiritual revival. Neither political party can solve our mindless problems. I say mindless because any country that would allow itself to be trillions of dollars in death defies all laws of common sense and rationality. Jesus, for example, told us to be salt and light and influence society through redeemed lives. But right here is where too many Christians are failing. We have let the world pollute our salt and we have hid our candle under the bushel basket. In short, we are like Sampson: we have let the world give us a haircut and we have lost our power to influence society. My dear friends, enjoy today. It could be the best day you will ever have. Only God knows when the darkness is going to fall and the America we once knew will experience His judgment. To whom much is given, much is required.
