The beauty of the exterior of the homesteads featured in My Beautiful Home is clearly apparent to anyone who passes them, but not many realise, from the outside, the gems hidden inside. The judges of the competition were so taken with the painstaking work done on the insides of many of the homesteads that, although it wasnt initially the plan, they decided to create a special category for interiors featuring a Gold, Silver and Bronze medal winner. Gold went to Sitshengisiwe Ngwenya whose interior was not only beautifully decorated with stylised floral designs but also exceptionally practical, with built in furniture as well as an innovative wood fired oven and stove top. Silver was won by Sethukani Mpofu whose entire interior was covered in a perfectly symmetrical geometric design to complement her beautifully designed and built display area. Bronze, which went to Ncu Sifundisiwe Ndlovu, was another winner, with a wonderfully executed viscose design covering the walls of the main living area as well as the outdoor kitchen.
