The beginning of Sept.. I shared about some awful foot (almost wrote hoof) pain I had been having and went to my Podiatrist. He said I had a dislocated toe. He said I needed to have surgery, which included cutting my toe bone & shortening my toe by putting a pin in it. He said I would need to be off my foot for 4 –8 weeks. I thought he was nuts. I told Danny I was getting a second opinion. Some friends referred me to another foot specialist. I have seen him twice now. He said the dislocation was caused because the tendons and ligaments were torn at the base of my toe. He said I would need those fixed plus, cutting my toe bone & shortening my toe by putting a pin in it. He says recovery is 12 –16 weeks and following what he says completely. No swimming, no horse time, no driving (it is my right foot) etc. Only up 5 minutes an hour and not back to back for the first 4 weeks. Then a boot for the rest of the 4-12 weeks. I said are you crazy? I can’t d that. So then he recommended amputating it and having a 2 week recovery. I said that sounds better. Well after talking to my Physical therapist, my Back Doctor and a few friends, that is what I wanted to do. However, My husband and I prayed about it, and if anyone knows about complications with an amputation, it would be him. So… repair surgery is set for Oct. 17th at Saint Luke’s in Meridian. I ask for your prayers. This will be a tough time for us. For me to learn to be still and rest. For Danny to have to try to do more then he ever has. Taking care of animals, shopping, hopefully some cooking, driving Andrew and I around. I also ask for those of you who can, any help would be appreciated ( a meal, sweep the floor, pick up dog poop or horse poop or even load the dishwasher. I know God has a plan.
