The beginning of my novel attempt! What Is the first thing you remember after being born? A light bulb swinging on a cord hanging from the ceiling might be my first memory and a house with green trimmed windows. It seems there was laughter coming from this person who looked down at me. Years later I was told it was my father who pushed that hanging bulb on a cord. Memories of my father from my years of birth to almost seven or eight are just not there! I recall uncles, aunts, grandpas, grandmas and even cousins but not my father. My father went to war when I was about three years old and I didnt see him again until I was about 6 to 7. I remember his return and his picking me up pressing me to his chest of sharp ribbons and metals and the taste of his salty tears running down my face. I was afraid of this stranger (My father). One memory and page at a time...... :)
