The below article is interesting but I do not completely buy it. Certainly some faiths are very literal and reconciling science with that literal view of the bible can be difficult. On the other hand, some faiths actually teach analytic thought . The Talmudic tradition of the Jewish faiths forces free thinking and encourages questioning- two traits that are helpful in discerning facts, reality and scientific discovery. Similarly the Anglican/Episcoplean, Quaker, Lutheran and Catholic faiths have for hundreds of years have been centers of learning and scientific progress. Although faiths emphasize the miraculous,it would be prejorative indeed to suggest such is merely magical thinking.
