The belt and sword of Orion region captured last night from Warkworth, after I had finished my imaging run on Comet Lovejoy I still had 10 minutes before the Moon got up, so I grabbed as many subs as I could before the Moon started blowing out the sky, the image is made up from 20 x 25 sec exposures captured at ISO3200 with a Canon 60da through a Canon 200 mm lens set at f/3.2, 10 dark frames were subtracted for calibration, final processing was completed in Photoshop CS5, Im not sure if it was the haze or smoke that created the fog filter effect on the belt stars or if it was moisture on my lens as I had been using the 200 mm lens all night and it could have been close to fogging up, anyway Im looking forward to really having a proper go at this region once a certain Comet stops distracting me. ;)
