The best form of exercise for any person starting out is what they enjoy. Dont knock anything. If something gets a person excited about exercise its to be commended, so long as its safe, and no matter how silly it seems. I often program activities for my clients that many people would be surprised to see me, a supposed strength coach, recommending. But its what they enjoy, and its what gets them moving. So I build around that foundation of fun, and slowly steer them towards their goals by adding on all the other necessary elements. By doing this the fun spills over and quickly my clients start to find enjoyment in all areas of their program, not just one. The opposite approach rarely works. Taking the fun out of a persons exercise routine and forcing them to do exclusively what you want lends a rather stale air to the whole experience, and boredom--and sometimes even resentment--quickly sets in. So start where youre going to start. Do what you youre going to enjoy. Enjoy it. And move on from there. - = + - Pat
