The best part in President Massoud interview was فظمه when he addressed it to EU. Its not common in Mauritania to witness our political elites criticizing EU for interfering in the nations internal affaires. On the other hand, Massoud seems very exhausted and disappointed about the situation in Mauritania and Mauritanians as well. He was not enthusiastic nor revolutionary as he used to be previously. Massoud feels that time is running out and he should do something, but should he do? In a way or another, Massoud confirmed to us that all these movement and political discourses adopted by COD were just BS... None sense if you want. All of them were running after their own interest and thats why General Aziz was able to come to power. In short, Massoud talks as some one who is in Badiya with some friends and having tea...its not like that. If you decide to engage yourself in political arena, you should bear in mind that you are going to carry the burdens and you will the subject of inquiries. Massoud did not pay attention to that, he acts like an innocent man. But thats how politicians get through peoples minds. Innocence is essentially what you should play to gain sympathy. No one denies Massouds achievement for Lehratine. He was among the first Haratines elite to voice for the freedom of Haratines. He made a huge success so far, but this wont justify his political mistakes such as having a dialogue with the General Aziz during the coup period with the other colleagues in COD. For me, the dialogue was the bottom line of the ongoing challenges. It was contradicting, silly, and selfishness. We still survive the same problem, and Massoud is saying that he did not know things will be turning otherwise. No vision to build a nation but to gain power...No program but propaganda...Massoud did not get well the question of separating between politics and religion. You can notice that from his response.
