The best part of being a T.A. is that I have access to test questions/answers and can build a databank to analyze questions in terms of their discriminability, etc. (Im not being sarcastic, its really fun to be able to look at test questions and objectively see which ones are good questions and such). Also for the first test in the class, attendance and were correlated a .70 - meaning basically 50% of the variance in the test scores could be attributed to each individuals presence/absence in the class. Small sample size so the true population value is undoubtedly much lower, but thats still pretty absurd.
