The best sermon I have ever witnessed was watching the mans sincerity and un-compromised love when he presented the Lord Jesus Christ to me on that awesome day on April 20, 1982... Sitting in a Mexican restaurant in Vista, CA. He glowed and radiated Gods love with genuine sincerity, compassion, and patience in my deepest moment of despair when I needed a Savior. He didnt know that accidentally pulled the trigger and took the life of my closest childhood friend playing with a loaded gun eight years before. He didnt know that I carried a lifetime of guilt and shame trying everyday to muster up a smile and process my anguish and function through the facade of pretending to live a normal life, despite what I had done. I shot and killed my best friend. Three hours of listening to the plan of salvation and Gods amazing love for me, I knew that God had a plan for my life. He was going to bring GLORY to my story! This man led me in a prayer and my life was forever changed. I knew about Jesus, but I didnt know THIS Jesus that he was telling me about... whatever I had to do I HAD TO KNOW THIS JESUS!!! Not the Catholic Jesus on that plastic crucifix that hung over my bed as a child... not the religious one... not the feeble pathetic one... but the RESURRECTED ONE who defeated sin, sickness, death and the grave! I met Him! It is no longer I who live, but He who lives in me! My name was entered in The Lambs Book of Life, the Holy Spirit took up residence within me, and I am who I am today because of the One he introduced me to on that fateful day. Your life is a living epistle being read by all men. You will never know the desperation that is going on in peoples lives. Always be ready to present the Way, the Truth and the Life to all that you come into contact with. There may not be another tomorrow.
