The best stories for today. Like and repost, if you liked them too :) 1) No way I will eat it! No way! Not in my life! It’s disgusting!” Mrs Skipper looked to the Grandma challenging her: her reaction was sudden. “YOU WILL EAT IT, this time, I tell you! And if you will not, you will eat NOTHING! WORD!” then, Granny turned and looked the Soldier and the Nerd, who were looking to mrs. Skipper with their usual ‘boiled fish’ expression. “And. If. You. Dare. To give her. Something. To eat... YOU WILLSTAYWTHOUT FOOD! YOU, TOO! STOP with childish behavior” They nodded fast and ran to their tasks (everybody was just frightened by Granny, as a matter of fact). The point of contention was the Lakas-Bulikak, which was sizzling on the grill: mrs. Skipper had always been refusing to taste it. They had discovered since a couple of weeks the mistery plant: it grew close to the Catacombs, it was cherry red with red pink strips, and it had a white claw all around it. It released a heavenly good smell. Its shape was honestly horrible, but they had trusted the Native when he said that his clan had been always eating a special recipe based on Aggressivus and red pepper. From the first bite, everybody had been thrilled; everybody apart mrs. Skipper who had refused to taste it. That day, by the way, Granny made her work like a slave: lumberjack, kitchen, crashing rocks and producing iron: at dinner time she was ravenous like a lion. She did not say anything: total silence, disgusted look, she took the first bite. Then, her eyes were shining like diamonds and she whispered “Mmmmmmh…. But… but…. It’s astonishing! It tastes like artichokes, it’s crispy like caviar eggs, it’s fresh and in the meantime spicy. It’s hot, it’s awesome!” She took the Soldier’ dish and ate his helping, too. Everybody nodded and smiled. The Soldier looked at her with the usual ‘boiled fish’ expression. 2) Amazingly aromatic Gorgeously gooey Genuinely gingery Ravishingly rich Eerily earthy Seriously spicy Scarily sour Immensely irresistible Vaguley vinegary Utterly unreal Strangely Scrumptious 3) I heard this story straight from one of the survivors. I am keeping his identity secret, for reasons I would rather not discuss. He said, and I quote, I have named this fruit Aggressivus, thankful, as I am, that I am alive to name anything at all. When I first saw this fruit I was certain it was poisoned! But I was so terribly hungry I had to try! I knew if I didnt eat soon I would be dead anyway, so I reached out and took one in my hand. Its spines dug into my palm, and it had a strange smell when I pulled it free of the stalk on which it hung. It smelled as though it could have been an apple, but with a note of bitterness. I looked at it once more in doubt before giving in and taking that first bite. The spines which had stung my hand hurt my gums and tongue also, but I persisted as I felt my mouth fill with saliva in anticipation of a meal, at last! I bit deeply, ignoring the pain and vowing to bring a shell or some sharp object next time, if I lived, to cut it open with. But even as these thoughts ran through my mind, my tongue was assailed by the most delicious, yet alien taste I had ever experienced! It was ambrosia! It was acid! My stomach clenched even as I tried to chew and swallow. I kept on, determined to at least die with a full belly if nothing else! It tasted of oranges and moldy bread, grapes and sour milk, strawberries and vinegar! It was at once delicious and repulsive! I wanted to throw it away, and yet eat every one I could see! It repelled and attracted my senses at once. I have named this fruit Aggressivus, thankful, as I am, that I am alive to name anything at all. I name it that for its forceful flavor and its deadly look and feel. It reminds me of a girl I once knew. She was an awful person, but I couldnt seem to stay away from her. She was very aggressive also, and dressed just like this plant, red, flashy and dangerous! Hmm, seems to be getting close to lunchtime, wouldnt you say? At this point he got a vacant look in his eyes and wandered away, looking about him as if in search of something...... I never saw him again.
