The best verse used to defend sola scriptura is 2 Timothy 3:16: All scripture is inspired by God, and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteous. Too bad this verse does not say only scripture instead of all scripture, and if it did, would be completely contradicting 1 Timothy 3:15 which says, the CHURCH of the living God is the pillar and foundation of truth.
