The best way to use social media. Devise systems to use it to scale your efforts in an attempt to make a personal connection with as many people as possible. Sound abstract? Maybe a little, but heres an example. In many of thePTDC articles I include a Click to Tweet link. This is a quotable in the article. Ill tag my own Twitter in there. Once somebody tweets out the article I get notified. I can then sit down once every day for 5-10 minutes and write a personal thank you and make a connection with anybody who tweeted the article. Scaling for the sake of scaling isnt all that effective. Scaling to help you focus your efforts to make a personal connection -- now thats the secret sauce, friends.
