The biblical meaning of meditation is not blanking out your thoughts, breathing deep, and exhaling slowly. It is to quitely muse, ponder and reflect upon something you have read in Scripture or heard preached, or to simply sit alone or in a group quietly and think about the Lord and His goodness toward you. Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth; but thou shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. Psalms 1:2 But His delight is in the Law of the Lord ; and in His Law does He meditate day and night. Psalms 77:12 I will meditate also of all Your Work, and talk of Your doings. Psalms 119:15 I will meditate in Your Precepts, and have respect unto Your Ways. Psalms 119:48 My hands also will I lift up unto Your Commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in Your Statutes. Psalms 119:78 Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in Your Precepts.
