The biblical struggle continues. Ishmael rages against Isaac the child of promise. Esau strives with Jacob to regain his lost birthright. The very election of the Jewish people has always been the real cause of so much hatred. The un-chosen resent those who were. Even in their unbelef, the election and calling of the Jewish people is irrevocable, and God is not done with them yet! He has ended their exile and brought them back to the Land as he promised (Ez 36, etc), restored them as a nation, and will soon restore to them the Kingdom (Acts 1:7). but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God’s gifts and his calling are irrevocable. Romans 11:28-29
