The biggest cohorts among the NO voters other than hard right rich - TopicsExpress

The biggest cohorts among the NO voters other than hard right rich Tories were low information voters, people that dont pay attention, pensioners (who often match both those two criteria, and who often also refuse to adopt modern accurate political frames), and those motivated by fear. While most YES groups appear to be continuing as far as I can see, what Im not seeing is national resources being produced, except online (where the NOs self-evidently are not). With the announcement that the cuts are going to double we can expect these groups of people to blame immigrants and the SNP for service provision reduction (they dont pay attention to news, particularly news you have work to find, but are nonetheless susceptible to the drip drip of the bosses discourse in the tabloids and the states discourse on the BBC). We urgently need a free sheet that can be printed off locally, is produced in bulk, self-funded, regular as clockwork, and commits to do nothing other than recycle articles and information that we are all sharing about online - Im thinking literally cut and paste wings, Sunday Herald columns, interesting articles from MSM, and so on. This is quite literally the only way we are going to get to these people (who dont generally consume much news anyway). I *do not* want to co-ordinate this, but Im not seeing this happening in a replicable way by the movement. The announcement of deeper austerity is likely to be a considerable threat to the democracy movement, because people who dont know any better look for easy scapegoats. They wont blame Westminster as many of our people are fervently hoping, because these groups of people are simply unaware of which parliament controls what. We desperately need to get information out there. And we need a team. Is anyone up for this? Please get in touch.
