The biggest fear that I have today concerning the subject comes largely from people who calls for bans on GMOs. A blanket ban on GMOs destroys a very large amount of medicine for millions of people with diabetes and is an overnight game changer for the US food market. Monsanto as a business is one of the worst offenders of corporate cronyism that I’ve ever seen, using their money and influence to customize agricultural and patent law to their liking, and I find this deplorable. But we cannot allow the fact that industrial giants are abusing a technology to become the rationale for banning the technology that has the capability to improve the lives of billions of people.
