The biggest lie we tell ourselves is that we are born free. No human being is ever being born free. We are all born naturally into certain forms of bondage - a bondage of name, of language, of culture, of religion, of class, of wealth or poverty, of family, of nationality, of race and of ethnicity. None of these is of our choice. We were never given any chance to make choices in these matters. This is the reason why freedom always comes with price. To be free, we constantly have to make a choice to divorce ourselves from those that claim partial or complete ownership over who we are as beings and existences. And no matter what name they cover themselves with, bondage simply is bondage. No, we are not born free; we are born to be free. The former is a wishful thinking deriving from a manufactured incubator of delusional lies; the latter a sacred obligation singularly tasked to each and every one of us by life to be truly human. Yes, to be free is to be human.
