The birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated every year… The mother Mary is praised as the vessel who became the mother through a miraculous conception. I want to take a look at Josephs roll right now. He had a sacrificial love for Mary. God saw it essential for Mary to not be alone and be shamed as an unwed mother. He also saw all the essential need for a child to have an earthly father. Joseph stepped up to the plate, never minimizing the fact that Jesus was Gods son. He nurtured Jesus and set an example as a man, displaying his strength as a comfort to the woman, talented carpenter, provider and protector. We are to do nonetheless in this life. We bear Jesus in our souls as Christians and should defend, protect and love him with all our hearts. We should also display this kind of love and service to others. His birth, life, death and resurrection is also what defends, protects and loves us into the Kingdom as we except HIS life into our lives. Thank you Jesus for your enormous gift. Help us live our lives as you would have us live and carry you everywhere we go.
