The blind dogs of Navi Mumbai! How to dogs come to me? First, I have some rules. (1) If you ask me to take a dog from you that you rescued I will not bring in the dog. Finders keepers. That said some dogs call out to you - some you just come across and they stand out because of the life theyve had they have had - abuse, disabilities, of theyre repeatedly abandoned or in their own city people will Like but not give them a home. (2) I am not the first port of call - the dogs that call out to me, and if I respond, its because I am the last option they have. I may be the best one but I am still the last. A dog should stay at home (and I have 6) but failing which I, and my system, can give them more care and loving than anything else for a 1000 miles around. We live together when both I and the dog knows we are it. The love of a dog who knows that - there is nothing like it. And the love for a dog that needs you like that - well only death can do us apart (as it so cruelly & often does) Second, there are no rules for this. Its serendipity, happenchance call it what you may. I am destined to be papa to some. Our paths cross and we fall in love. Its as simple as that. Like this first guy in Mumbai.
