The board of commissioners for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey has approved plans by Royal Caribbean to build a new cruise terminal building at Cape Liberty in Bayonne, N.J. The $70 million cruise terminal, which will be paid for by Royal Caribbean, will include a 36,000-square-foot check-in terminal, a 60,000-square-foot luggage area and a parking deck. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer and be completed by October 2014. Royal Caribbean will sail the Quantum of the Seas out of Bayonne. The 4,180-passenger ship is scheduled to enter service in November 2014.
