Wealthy, ambitious, intelligent, and driven people (job & wealth creators) are RENOUNCING their U.S. citizenship at a record pace to keep our Kleptocratic federal government from seizing their property. From the WSJ article (link is the comments section)... ---Experts say that the growing number of renunciations by U.S. citizens and permanent residents is linked to a five-year enforcement campaign against U.S. taxpayers who have undeclared offshore accounts. The campaign began after Swiss banking giant UBS admitted in 2009 that it had systematically encouraged U.S. taxpayers to hide assets in secret Swiss accounts. About 100 other Swiss financial institutions are currently in a U.S. Justice Department program designed to uncover other secret accounts. Recently, attorneys representing 73 of them protested that the terms of the program were too harsh.--- In the United States of America, the Justice Department is looking to SEIZE the property of Americans thats been deposited for safe-keeping overseas!!! As John Locke pointed out in his Second Treatise on Civil Government over 300 years ago, a persons property is a projection of life itself. Its an extension of your life, energy, and ingenuity. These attempts by the federal government to seize/steal the overseas property of American citizens (even when its been earned overseas) is therefore an attack on the essence of life itself according to Locke. This naked attempt at theft by the out-of-control federal government of the United States goes WAY beyond the bounds of legitimate taxation! As the WSJ article noted, the... U.S. taxes citizens on income they earn anywhere in the world. The rule dates to the Civil War. U.S. tax liabilities can also cover children born to Americans abroad... Thats right, foreign-born children too! In the midst of our numerous distractions, weve missed the biggest of all dangers; an out-of-control federal LEVIATHAN that doesnt respect your God-given right to your own property. How long until they send hit teams after these Americans who hide their hard-earned property abroad? Its only hyperbole if its unimaginable.
