The book “SWEET TERMARIND” by the former senior IAS officer and Secretary to the Government of India, Shri Prasanna Mishra Mishra, is a treasure and valuable guide on the meaningful role of bureaucracy in good governance. The book is highly refreshing, articulately lucid and spontaneously communicative; it could be read as a novel. The book should be read by not only the bureaucrats, aspiring officials; but by all concerned, who are interested in good governance, with an effective and pro-development bureaucracy. Kudos to Shri Mishra for putting his experience in both retrospective and perspectives; and providing a balm to the bureaucracy, whose esteem has been reduced and which is in the middle of turbulence in recent past.
