The bottom line is that, at almost three times the size of Central Park, Freshkills afford us an amazing opportunity. We will continue to press the City for full funding, but the economic realities should compel us to be creative in our attempts at funding, including aggressively exploring private-public partnerships as is being done across the country. If we simply wait on the City to build this out, including the all-important roads, we will be waiting a long, long time.
