The brilliant lawyer representing Chan & Sukamarin is Scrambling - TopicsExpress

The brilliant lawyer representing Chan & Sukamarin is Scrambling to put together a very novel form of petition, and its based on a 2007 decision by one of the 2 Higher Court in Indonesia. Apparently you have the constitutional court and… The Supreme Court maybe? I forget what they call it. Apparently, 1 of the courts held in 2007 That there is no set limit on the number of petitions you can bring, provided you have the right facts and circumstances upon which to bring it, the other unequivocally stated you get one shot. Now, Im just starting to take a look at this now, trying to figure out what the law is bBut what is really interesting about this situation is that these types of successive petition, when they are allowed, specifically apply to the situation involving drug traffickers and from what I have heard so far (again Im researching it) There is a previous decision which states that where a drug trafficker has spent 10 years rehabilitating himself that a death sentence should be commuted? That seems far too conveniient for the situation here, And my source is not the greatest – the Australian news – so Im trying to look it up now to get to the Bottom of it. If the law is anything remotely close to that though, these 2 guys are the poster children for whom the law should apply to.
