The burning angels are called Seraphim in the Kabalistic determination. They have the peculiar role of burning up in self-nullification as they return to oneness with God. This is brought on by their knowledge, and thus awareness, of their separation from pure Divinity. The Seraphim realize that the true Glory of God’s creation is to be found in the lowly human! The Living Angels are lower in hierarchy than the Seraphim but have a stronger ability to pull down the higher source of vitality. Their ability is rooted in their superior emotive self-awareness and thus more potent desire. It is the Living Angels that draw down violet flame to lower creation and to benefit the “naked ape.” The Merkaba channels divine flow by way of these Angels. By way of Creator, then Moses, and then The Torah, a Hasidic (pious) perspective is offered of the Kabbalah which is a psychological construct. Within it is revealed a set of layers that describe interconnectedness between and within human nature, the world, and ecological interaction of the world, and self-refinement. These layers are also manifestations according to the Kabbalah. The Living Angels were used by God to create the nature of this world and now in natural and archetypal interactions, the elements of the world that are also known as the “ways” or Ophanim come to fruition. The elements of the world are fire, earth, water, and air… and within the Kabbalah, they are represented by the Lion, The Ox, The Human, and the Eagle, in that order. Accordingly, all things are recombinant expressions of the interaction between these essential elements. The archetypical interactions of the world are God’s creation. Humans will “see” God as they learn to perceive elemental interaction. The elements actually oppose each other quite frequently as they also join forces. When god chooses to ride his thrown, the four Ophanim will join their wings behind him and create the chariot as one. If humans see this, they see God. It is the nature of reality, and God/Creator’s wish, that all things interact and emerge. The harmony created by the Ophanim may often appear as a conflict, but the wise person seeking God’s will begins to know the harmony as truth. Accordingly, in Revelation 4:1-11, God has four evangelists that surround His throne. In the Kabbalah, oneness is described as a unification that represents God (Matt, 1995). Thus, like the wings of his Ophanim which unite to form his vessel, the entirety of creation is connected by an ultimate all-encompassing chain of being. The word of Torah, which elaborates and contains the Merkaba’s alchemical formula, suggests that true knowledge is like a beautiful Maiden. She knows her lover to be just without and about her palace grounds, and thus, she leaves a crack in the window. As he approaches, her words are riddles and she converses through a “veil” … but she always brings forth inspiration of Love as well. The Merkaba is the tool (chariot) with which to transcend to the spiritual worlds (Weschcke & Slate, 2012). The wings of angels are also considered Merkaba in terms of symbolic meaning (Gaia & LeBlanc, 2010). Their use is intended for rising back towards Creator …towards the Light. Humans may delimit their vital energy and raise their vibrational context within and without, thus ascending to higher dimensional reality.
