The call to legalize Cannabis(Bhangi) by some youths in Nyeri and later the subsequent arrest and arraignment in court is an event we should not wash away so quickly.Several questions have not been answered and need to be. Is this the right way to go about social issues affecting our society?Will these young men get help eventually when they get jailed?Did the police or the local administration have to wait until NTV covered them so as to react?. Can we be urging Kenyans to chew Miraa and telling them its not a drug, and yet tell others Bhangi is illegal? Where did NACADA feature in all these, and yet they are funded by the taxi payers money to help such people.Its very unfortunate that the society can be so quick to go assist those claiming Mombasa is not Kenya and just watch as these youths who are actually sick go rot in prison.These guys need help, counseling and maybe rehabilitation. They need our love, acceptance and be given options in life, they represents many others who are suffering in various addictions and abandoned by this judgmental sick society.
