The campus board is a great tool to help develop power and explosiveness for climbing. Wendesday, the Varsity Team took to the workout area to get some powah. A few of the kids are new, so we modified the workout a little. As with all campus board workouts, keep an open hand grip, do not pinch with your thumb, and try to engage all four fingers. Ladders Start on the lowest rung, pull your feet up and campus hand over hand skipping the intermediate rungs. Start with your right hand going up first, campus as high as you can go and drop down. Immediately get back on and start with you left hand going up first. Rest for three minutes. Perform 3 rounds. If you are new to the campus board, use the kick board underneath. Before your feet come off, come back down on the same rungs. Long Pulls Start on a rung that is above your head, but comfortable for you to reach. Bring your feet off the ground and pull up while reaching for the highest rung you can catch. Match the rung and drop down. Perform three pulls in a row with your right hand going up first. Rest minute and perform three pulls in a row with your left hand going up. Perform three sets with three minutes between each set. If you are new to the campus board, use the kick board underneath.
