The case of willful blindness. I wanted to share the following news report from CNN regarding another American-Israeli teenager that has gone missing in Israel. It curious that this has occurred at the moment when ceasefire has been achieved. I also noted that the interviewee did not show any acknowledgement or comprehension of Palestinian suffering under decades long occupation or the fact that Israel has bombed palestinian school children and killed thousands numberous times, not just now. In one of their previous campaigns, IDF dropped 100 tons of bombs in one day, and chose a time when children got of school to do this ie midday. Are Israeli lives worth more than Palestinian lives? Do Palestinians not deserve the same rights and protections as Israelis? The lady also made no mention of the Iron Dome, and the level of protection it is supposed to provide. Her attitude towards the ceasefire was far from positive and hopeful, it was more negative. To me this shows a lack of commitment towards peace and a peaceful resolution of this conflict. To me it shows that Israelis like herself are willing to go on with their lives despite the illegal occupation, even if that involves bombing Palestinians into oblivion if they retaliate by firing rockets. The role of Israel in this conflict is swept under the carpet and not mentioned at all. Killing and kidnapping of children is always undoubtedly wrong and reprehensible, but these awful acts will continue on both sides unless the Israelis respect the rights of Palestinians, respect the importance of justice, equality and fair-play and stop their double standards. They need to hold themselves up to the same standards as they apply to the Palestinians, they need to respect UN resolutions and respect the law and end this illegal occupation and apartheid: news.msn/videos?videoid=6fb5af0c-3c13-4477-96e1-de5db551a482
