The cat over population in this area is no secret and their poor - TopicsExpress

The cat over population in this area is no secret and their poor adoption rates are staggering. There are several reasons but one of the more common ones is noone wants to pay for a cat because their neighbor/friend/family member has anywhere between 2-35 for free. The free cats rarely get altered, and they make it their mission to populate the earth with more cats and do said repopulating as soon and as frequently as possible. We have over 3 dozen cats who have been waiting for MONTHS to find a home and we have adopted 3 cats in the last 6 weeks. Adopting is not going to solve the horrific overpopulation of cats. But, spaying and neutering cats already in the community will solve the problem. So, CCHS is very happy to offer a low cost spay/neuter opportunity for cat parents. The cost is $30 for the surgery - either spay or neuter - and there are no residency requirements. In an effort to spread the money around, there is a 4 female cat spay per household limit. There is no limit on male neuters. Our participating clinic is Huntingdon Animal Clinic - oddly located in Huntingdon. Applications are available at our shelter building at 21822 Hwy 22 in McKenzie; at Huntingdon Animal Clinic; and eventually on our FB page once we solve a technical glitch. If you would like, we can mail you one if you send us a PM here or we can email one to you if you prefer. You can send your email in a PM or send us an email at cchstn@gmail and we can attach the application back to you. PLEASE read the directions that come with the application. The money generated for this fund came from CCHS fundraisers and people simply writing us checks designated for the cause. A big thank you goes to Susan and Lyle Parsons and the 1st annual Tour de Paws; Dr. Jenni Marlow who sold her son James Marlows labor at our annual banquet for the cause and to Dr. Sarah Roberts who bought James labor and regifted it to his mom; fabulous photographer Amiee Stubbs who donated one of her prints to be sold for the cause at our annual banquet and to Lisa Langford for digging deep and going big to buy Amiees print; and to Dr. Sarah Kidd, Linda Schaffer, and Dr. Jillian Edwards for making personal contributions to this fund. If you are a cat parent or know someone who is a cat parent in need of spay/neuter assistance, please send them our way so we can help them have their kitties altered. Give your cat the best gift ever this holiday season - get em fixed!
