The cats in Youngs lab come in sweet and happy, then a few weeks - TopicsExpress

The cats in Youngs lab come in sweet and happy, then a few weeks later the trauma of life in a lab has completely changed them to a frightened and aggravated animal who hisses when approached and fears human contact. The constant handling, restraining and pricking with the needles has driven them mad. This is the sad reality for the felines living inside these labs. These are the effects of laboratory life. The effects are the same everywhere, it is in their nature to be Free and confinement Destroys them. These cats are just sitting there day in and day out, waiting and waiting for nothing but more unwanted and painful handling from people who do nothing but experiment on their bodies . Imagine being a cat, and NEVER being able to Leave a Box. Your entire life you are in a Box! Experimenting on these cats is Just Cruel. An animal lover would NEVER confine animals and experiment on them. For all of the animals trapped in labs, their day-to-day existence is traumatic in itself—even without their forced participation in one dreaded protocol after another. They experience ongoing mental and physical suffering from the endless boredom, confinement, fear, and emotional stress of daily laboratory life. Add to this the fear and agony of a procedure, and only then can we start to understand the desperation and pain in which they live, every day—and for most, for their entire lives.
