The cherry tree has a hard time in the wild. The weight of the snow and the wind makes it twist and turn as it grows, it becomes a tough little tree. My friends who own a mill came upon one by accident, it was among maples, oaks and pines. When they sawed through it to make boards they called me up right away. They knew what they had but they had no idea of why its so special. The grain grows like a curtain so when its cut, it tries to catch the light in multiple directions. This is wild curled cherry wood.
