The children in Syria are suffering after 3 years of conflict. More than 5.5 million Syrian youth have been deprived of schools, food, medical attention, or a safe community to grow up in, according to UNICEF. USOH staff member Obay works with our team out of North Iraq. He decided to do something for these children by helping organize Spring of Hope, an event for the kids in the Syrian refugees camp, at Akra Castle in Akra, Iraq. This was hosted by the exchange program IYLEP Alumni Network. This event was meant to bring smiles to the Syrian children, help them to forget the pain of leaving their country, and provide the opportunity for the kids to enjoy a normal and fun day. Obay tells our team that it was a day to remember, for him and the Syrian kids. Nothing is better than making a little kid smile and this is what his team did for the Nawroz holiday. ربيع الامل .. عمل خيري لاجل اطفال اللاجئين المخيمات السوريه في قلعه عقرة .. في عقرة شمال العراق .. قامت به شبكه خريجي البرنامج التبادل الثقافي IYLEP الهدف منه رسم ابتسامه ع وجووه هؤلاء الاطفال ، لكي نحاول ان ينسوا الالم الذي يعانوه من ترك بلدهم ، وان يعيشوا يوما ممتعا طبيعيا كاقرانهم في انحاء العالم كان يوم لا ينسى لنا وللاطفال لا شيء افضل من جعل طفل صغير يبتسم ويقضي يوما جميلا .. وهذا ما حاولنا فعله في عيد الربيع ( نوروز) .
