The choir secretary has been contacted by Mr Ben Saul. Mr Saul was our very first winner in 1986, of our young musician of Flint Competition that the choir runs. Mr Saul is now a choral conductor of his own choir and accompanist in Kent. He is also a teaching professor at the Guildhall school of music and drama. Furthermore he is a music therapist and church musician. He is launching his own young musician of Faversham Competition next year. His musical life has been inspired by the chances the choir gave him, in 1986 when he won the first competition. He wishes to be remembered to members past and present, that gave him such a boost in his chosen career in music. The Chairman Mr Gwyn Hughes, remembers Ben from the competition in 1986 and was impressed by the youngsters talents at an early age. The Chairman went on to say “the opportunities youngsters locally have had, from the choir is inspiring, especially to see this young man as he was then turn into a professor of music and it all started with Flint Male Voice Choir”
