The chuchubi pretu(Rough billed Ani) that Jourainne Da Costa Gomez rescued in the road two days ago, drank antibiotics via its drinking water, and ate papaya, banana, egg-food. After the bird had its fill, it was released around 11 am. This morning the birds was observed sitting in an indju tree. We prepared a tray (that has rope attached to it) with food and water and it was raised about 4 meters away in a nearby tree. The chuchubi pretu (Rough billed Ani) is now being observed by volunteers and was reported being on the tray and eating and drinking. It was decided to release the bird in the 80+ year old Indju trees at the rescue center of TeamCARE (Curacao Animal Rescue & Education) because volunteers had observed 3 chuchubi pretu birds eating at the wild animal feeding station) every morning.
