The cities in Pakistan know what energy supply gap feels like. Cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, Sukkur and Karachi. To rise to the level where China is willing to invest in the transport, industrial and agricultural sectors of Pakistan, we need energy supply and lots of it to connect China with these 4 cities. So, the gas pipelines: Iran/Pakistan and Turkmenistan/Afghanistan/Pakistan becomes meaningful. This is where the political stability matters in the region. Both the land connections with China are located in Taliban controlled areas: Wakhan Corridor and Khunjerab Pass - Karakoram Highway. Both the pipelines will pass through Afghan, Pakhtoon and Baluch regions. On top of it, there is USA, NATO, Russia and India interest in the region. With such geo-political forces, who will meet the energy supply gap in Pakistan?
