The civic election results make it even more imperative that we start working together to unite the progressive voters. LeadNow.ca has some strategies that will work to ensure that the Cons dont get in again next election. We need to lobby prospective candidates and ask them tough questions to see who we can endorse and stand behind them to make sure they get elected in split ridings. We not get to vote for the party we love most, but it will ensure that the vote doesnt get split, resulting in another Conservative majority. I think this is partly what happened in civic elections. People voted for COPE and Green candidates (and others), understandably so (I did too), but this paved the way for the supporters of the right to get their candidates more votes than anyone else. We need to actively question and then endorse candidates who will stand up for the things we care about and then make sure they get in! Check out LeadNow.ca if you want to help make this happen!
