The clear line between a ruling party and the opposition in Nigeria is that, the ruling party has taken all and the opposition intends to take all back from the ruling party. They both dont have a clear cut ideology different from each other.Non can claim to Nigerians that its a saint and non came from heaven. Are these parties not in the National Assembly? Has any opposition party proved beyond reasonable doubt to do differently from what the ruling party is doing? Are the remunerations different between these parties? What about the orientation? Can the opposition absolve itself totally from the bane of leadership in Nigeria? Both PDP and APC owe Nigeria and Nigerians that strong political will that is missing in our polity.Has any party taken into considerations the core values of political parties other than power grab? After elections what do political parties in Nigeria do? Is party system in Nigeria all about elections alone? For me, I would wish the constitution gives a suitable alternative to Independent candidates who can stand in elections independently without any party platform. While I yet believe in altercation of power, I will be more than happy to see credible men lead other than power seeking monsters forced against our common will through parties that are out to grab power because of sentiments or cloned interest.I believe in Nigeria and Nigeria remains my belief. Whether ruling party or opposition, one thing remains which is,political parties are created for man and not man for political parties.Individuals creates institutions and their characters strengthen those institutions.Weak institutions are as a result of degrading social values and until we build those estimable values poised towards nation building,we labour in vain when we allow our tender feelings begin to work against our common destiny which is project Nigeria.Be it opposition or ruling party, Nigeria deserves the best and we all are the determinants of what Nigeria deserves.-DAA
