The clip of Rachel Price getting on like a jammette that CNC3 broadcast this evening should be enough to put her remaining few supporters to shame. That is of course, assuming that they have some modicum of self respect or social awareness. You see, it might be fun to light your house on fire, you can even take delight in the pretty colours and dance in the glow, but where are you going to live? Imagine all of the children of impressionable ages who saw and heard that, and then witnessed mummy or daddy say by their enthusiastic support that is good. What do you think those children just learned? I make my living on words, i live by freedom of speech, but there is a line, a limit, after which we reach irresponsible and even dangerous speech, and that is not good for anybody. People like Rachel Price are dangerous to society, and you may laugh and clap while the acid is being poured over someone else, someone you may not think too highly of, but what happens when that same bile is aimed at you or someone you love? In the United States the Supreme Court upheld that freedom of speech could never be absolute to the point that it causes harm. There is the often quoted maxim that there is no freedom for those who yell fire in a crowded theatre, simply because their words can cause injury. Real freedom comes with responsibility, my right to swing my fist stops at your right to not be hit in the face. Some of us need to learn and understand that, and stop encouraging the Rachel Prices of this land from making a dirty mess where we all live.
