The cold front has pushed into southern Illinois this evening. Dewpoint temps have started to fall off as dry air is advecting into the state. The challenge for the night will be how much cloud clover sticks around. Lows should drop into the upper 50s to around 60 tonight. Tomorrow with dry air in place temps will rebound quickly in the afternoon but will remain in the upper 70s. The next weather maker will start to push toward the area Friday afternoon into the evening hours. A cold front will start to arrive in the Illinois River Valley late Friday evening and eventually clear our area by Saturday afternoon. Models are starting to agree on timing of the frontal passage but disagree on precipitation chances. I am going to introduce a chance for showers and storms NW of I-55 on Friday evening and linger chances for showers and storms into early Saturday afternoon SE of IL-16. Sunday will be very pleasant with sunshine and highs only around 80! Highs next week remain in the upper 70s to lower 80s. The models do start to disagree on timing of a system for the middle of the week. I am going to leave Tuesday dry for now and let the models work out the timing issues for next week.
